The Greene County Rams picked up a convincing conference win in baseball Wednesday on the road in Collins vs. CMB. Final score was 9-3.
The Rams scored four runs in the first inning, one each in the second and third innings, and three in the fourth.
Junior Colton Fitzpatrick was on the mound for the Rams and threw the entire game. He had 13 strikeouts and three walks while allowing five hits. One of the Raiders’ three runs was unearned. The Rams committed two errors for the game and the Raiders committed six.
The Rams’ bats were busy as they boys got 11 hits. Junior Jordan Challen hit three singles and got an RBI, junior Dylan McConnell had a triple and a single and an RBI, and junior JC Weitl hit a double and a single and also got an RBI. Junior Riah Nelsen hit a single and got an RBI. Juniors Alex Rasmussen and Jordan Hostetler and sophomore Tyler Beger hit singles.
The Rams are at 6-12 overall and 6-8 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.
